WASTEWATER SYSTEM MASTER PLAN
MANCHESTER, VT
  Typical wastewater manhole inventory photo
In 2006 Manchester officials contracted with Dufresne Group (DG) to develop a long range master plan of the wastewater collection and treatment system. In this document all wastewater collection components were inventoried and evaluated for compliance with current regulatory and design standards. A computerized wastewater collection system model was developed and used for analysis of the collection system. A map of the wastewater collection system was prepared with links to manhole inspection forms and photographs that were taken during the inventory. Estimates of the remaining equipment life were prepared and recommendations for sinking funds for equipment replacement were developed.
Charateristics of the Manchester, VT wastewater system include:
- Two municipal owned wastewater pump stations
- Thirteen privately owned and maintained wastewater pump stations
- Four wastewater gravity river crossings
- Three wastewater siphones
- 0.6 million gallon wastewater lagoon treatment facility
The estimated cost to resolve wastewater collection and treatment deficiencies were developed and a phasing program was recommended to implement system improvments.
