GRANGE HILL HOUSING PROJECT
WOODSTOCK, VERMONT

Dufresne Group provided civil/site engineering as a subconsultant to Duncan Wisniewski Architects. The work included final design submittal and permit assistance. The project included 36 units on approximately 8 acres of land with access to Route 4 in Woodstock, Vermont. As part of the final design, civil grading, water distribution, sewer collection and storm sewer collection and treatment drawings were developed to create a final drawing set.

DG provided assistance to obtain the following permits:

  • Act 250
  • General Permit #3-9015 to Discharge Stormwater
  • Construction Permit for Public Community Water System
  • Wastewater System & Potable Water Supply Permit
  • Low Risk Notice of Intent under Construction General Permit 3-9020
  • VTrans Access Permit
  • Woodstock Design Review Board Approval

Project challenges included design of upland stormwater diversion swales as part of the project, an off site stormwater treatment and retention pond, and grading for buildings in areas where the existing site varied between 15 and 25% grade.
