GRAFTON COUNTY COMPLEX WATER STORAGE TANK
HAVERHILL, NEW HAMPSHIRE

In January of 2006, a fire destroyed a farm building at the Grafton County Complex, and inadequacies in the existing fire suppression system available to the courthouse and prison complex became evident. D&A was hired to evaluate the existing water system capacity for both domestic water use and fire protection associated with planned expansions at the complex. A tank site was identified to meet the hydraulics of the Woodsville Water and Light water system and plans were developed to bid both precast prestressed concrete and glass fused to steel water storage tanks for a 630,000 gallon water storage tank at the site. By bidding both PCPS concrete and GFtS Grafton County was able to attain the most competitive bid to meet project needs and remain within the project budget.

Bids received were not only evaluated on cost but ability to meet project schedules and Natgun Corporation was selected. During construction Natgun proposed to cover and heat the tank rather than request a winter shut down at no additional cost to the owner.
