STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

The successful candidate has experience in the State of Vermont and is a leader, responsible for supervising, developing, mentoring, and hiring staff. Additional responsibilities include marketing the firm's services and related business development, budgeting, scheduling, project management, and design.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Perform bridge design and prepare plans, specifications and estimates
  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and practices of engineering field and related sciences and disciplines
  • Responsible for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules and company standards
  • Direct communications/coordination with clients or client representatives
  • Research design options and document findings for Senior Project Engineer
  • Uses computer to run programs in order to solve engineering problems
  • Keeps manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services
  • Ability to create and maintain project records

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in Vermont and New Hampshire
  • Project experience including bridge design
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Vermont and New Hampshire
  • Experience with New Hampshire permits and processes
  • Working knowledge of various engineering software including AutoCAD and MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with client relations, business development, marketing, proposal preparation, project budgeting and public presentations
  • Is a client-focused leader and team player
  • Possesses excellent communication, planning and organizing skills and has the ability to manage a staff of 2 to 5 people
  • Position requires travel to job sites, meetings, and regional offices as necessary
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
