GREEN MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY BASEBALL FIELD
MONTPELIER, VERMONT

A nonprofit organization was formed by a group of volunteers in Montpelier, Vermont to improve conditions at the existing baseball field on Elm Street. The goal of the organization was to provide a facility that would conform to standards for inclusion on Montpelier in the New England Community Baseball League (NECBL). This league, comprised of teams throughout New England, will provide competitive baseball for the area. Players in the league will be select college individuals from throughput the county.

DG provided the technical assistance for the design of improvements necessary to bring the field to the standards required by the NECBL. Grading and drainage improvements were designed for the facility as well as a parking scheme that included off-site parking as well as improvements in addition to the existing on-site lot.

The work resulted in acceptance of the facility by the NECBL as a site to host a league team. Therefore, the area Montpelier youth will join the league in the upcoming season. Eddie Walbridge, President of the Green Mountain Community Baseball League was grateful the quality of work on the project and found our levels of expertise to create an opportunity for the area to bring back baseball to the youth in Montpelier.
